The Care for Sexuality Foundation (in Dutch: Zorg voor Seksualiteit) is a value-driven organization which focusses on increasing sexual health, by investing in safe relational and sexuality education. We share knowledge and expertise about sexuality. We develop methods and materials and we cooperate with other organizations in creating and implementing effective sexual health and relationship education. We work from a health-based perspective.
Our key values are Respect, Safety and Autonomy.
About Care for Sexuality
Sexual Health and Relationship Education is about getting to know yourself, accepting yourself and being able to protect yourself – and the other. By making reliable information accessible we invest in a society which enables people to be sexual healthy and to engage in safe relationships.
We have over more than twenty years of experience in talking about sexuality in a culture-sensitive way. We have developed methods for different schools (primary, secondary and high school) and trained a lot of professionals from education and health care. In Moldova we trained the care givers and teachers of a children day care center. In Iraq we worked on a project proposal for the Ministry of Foreign affairs, about how to invest in the health and well-being of Yezidi women.
Over the years we gained specific experience in making information about sexuality accessible for different groups of children and people, all from a different cultural and religious background. Our value-driven and health-based way of working provides a structural and solid framework in our work. In working with children and develop material for primary schools, we involve the parents and teachers in an effective and inclusive way.

What other people say
The Care for Sexuality Foundation is established by Arjet Borger. She is a Health Scientist and author of several books about sexuality. You can read more about her work on her personal website http://www.arjetborger.nl/english/.
‘Talking about sexuality requires a clear choice: listening rather than moralizing, informing rather than forbidding.’
Peter Leusink – GP, sexologist NVVS – Dutch Society for Sexology
‘You have something special here – having looked at many English books on sexuality and guidance books for teenage sexuality from a Christian perspective, I have not come across anything which is so sensitively honest, and willing to tackle the tough issues without losing either your faith-based values, or the reality young people (and their parents) are facing.’
Christo Greyling, Director: Faith Partnerships for Development at World Vision (about a book from founder Arjet Borger)
